Youth

Youth

The mission and goal of our youth group is to lead our young people into experiencing the Holy Orthodox Faith. By developing a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and becoming active sacramental members of the living Church, our young people will be equipped with tools necessary to assist them in their journey toward salvation.

Typical activities that we are involved in and or plan to do are visiting nursing homes and soup kitchens, Christmas caroling, bake sales, youth retreats, organized sporting events for team building at our community centre and much more.

Altar Servers

The Church makes available to all boys from 10 years of age to seniors in High School the opportunity to serve as acolytes at the Altar. The word "acolyte" comes from the Greek word "akoulotheo" meaning "to follow." The young men are organized into groups that rotate weekly. The Altar servers assist the clergy on Sunday morning, and during other special services throughout the year. Extracurricular activities are also planned to encourage fellowship, partnership, and teamwork.

To serve, the young men interested must call Fr. Stavros himself at Cell# (905) 321-2560.

If you are interested in joining the group to learn about our faith and to make new friends, please checkout our calendar on this site for upcoming events.
