Agape, Faith & Progress - VISION 2020 Fundraising Campaign
Dear Members and Friends,
It has been a little more than 10 years since we moved to our current Church and Community Centre property. We are all witness to the physical transformation of our Church and Community Centre and the significant investments made to effect this transformation.
We know you are aware of the important role that St. Katharine/Greek Community of Niagara plays in fostering and enriching the religious, spiritual, cultural and Greek language needs of its members and friends. This important work has mostly been supported by key fundraising events, private donations and sponsorship.
Well over $4 million has been invested in the property and facility improvements over the last decade. Part of the foregoing amount was the Greek Community of Niagara’s good fortune to receive $758,000 of government grant funding during the 2012-2014 period which it had to match at a 2:1 or 3:1 ratio to effect the rehabilitation and expansion to the building facilities and property. As a result of the matching funds expended to complete these improvements the Church’s total indebtedness presently stands at $1,233,761 (as of January 1, 2016).
The physical improvements to the Church and Community Centre have aided in increased fellowship, events and program offerings, examples of which include but are not limited to the following: on-site Sunday School and Religious Retreats, multi-grade Greek Language School and Greek Dancing Programs; Club Ellas, Philoptochos, Hellenic Heritage Committee and other member driven fellowship programs and events; on-site hosting of the Niagara Greek Festival, Folk Arts, Community Dances and other events.
In order to continue making a difference in the lives of individuals affected by the work of St. Katharine and the Greek Community of Niagara, it is vital for the debt to be eliminated. The Agape, Faith & Progress: Vision 20/20 Fund-raising Campaign has been established to seek your support to eliminate the debt by 2020. Can we count on you to make a donation to this important cause? By making a tax deductible donation to this campaign, you'll be directly contributing to strengthening and securing the future of St. Katharine and the Greek Community of Niagara. Additionally, you'll be recognized for your generosity as a campaign supporter.
St. Katharine/Greek Community of Niagara is depending on your assistance and generosity. Please give to the best of your abilities and ask others to join you in supporting the campaign. Thank you for your consideration and continued support.
Sincerely yours in service,
Please give to the best of your abilities and ask others to join you
in supporting the campaign.
